Program Overview

What is the Hub Leader Exchange Program?

The Hub Leader Exchange Program is a Community Hubs Australia (CHA) funded initiative that allows hub leaders to connect, share, and learn in a different hub to their own as part of their professional development.

Ten hub leaders - five pairs - will be selected to participate in the program.

During the exchange period in Term 2, selected hub leaders will spend three days in another hub, and host another hub leader at their own hub for three days. Together they will share successes and challenges in the hub, exchange ideas about hub programs and partners, and discuss ways for building engagement with the school and the community.

After the exchange, each pair will be asked to reflect on their learnings and share what they've learnt with the rest of the network, giving all hub leaders the opportunity to benefit from new ideas and resources.

When will the exchange happen?

Five pairs will be able to arrange the two-way exchange as two three-day blocks between 27 April – 26 June, 2026.

Following the exchange, CHA will support exchange participants to present their learnings with the national hubs network as part of an online webinar series, and at the national conference in 2027.

What are the costs associated with the program?

Travel, accommodation and meal costs will be covered by CHA for hub leaders across the three days of their visit to another hub.

CHA will not cover costs associated with the hub leader's time spent preparing, travelling, continuing the operation of their hub or hosting a hub leader as part of participating in the program.

What are the responsibilities of participating hub leaders?

Participating hub leaders must have school leadership permission, availability, and capacity to spend three days visiting another hub as well as hosting another hub leader for three days at their own hub. They will also be asked to reflect on their learnings and share them with the network, and to complete pre-exchange and post-exchange evaluations. Before applying, it is essential that hub leaders have approval from their Principal. Principals and support coordinators will be asked to complete a form to support their hub leader’s application, and to act as a referee if the hub leader is shortlisted.
